Introducing The Cascadia Chronicles Substack
Join me in bringing a fantasy adventure set in a post-human Pacific Northwest to life.
Today’s a big day. It’s the first day of middle school for Lana, and the first day of this brand new Substack for me. Truly, a new season!
Meanwhile, I’m a month into writing this novel and on a solid track right now. I feel some butterflies at letting you folks in, though I love where the story’s going and I think a reading community will guide the process and make this book a reality.
I don’t assume everyone wants in, so follow that link to sign up! Some posts will be readable for free, though most will be subscriber-only. Subscriptions cost $5 per month, and supporters for three months or longer will receive a free signed copy of the novel whenever it goes to print.1 I anticipate this project lasting three or four months, and will only charge subscribers so long as the work is active.
Look, I’m aware a post-apocalyptic middle-reader fantasy series starring opposable-thumbed animals is quite a bit different than what I usually write, and maybe this will all be a disaster! That might be pretty entertaining, too. But I believe the time to tell Cascadian stories has come, a good plan is in place, and my heart is filled with gratitude to be part of creating a world like this.
I hope you'll follow along.
Also, this may never happen! In that case, you’ll get the satisfaction of supporting a project and the entertainment of the posts.
