A self-portrait of the writer in ink.

What’s all this now?

Hi, I’m Jordan Green. You may remember me from such publications as The Burnside Writers Collective, Willamette Week, Stark & Main, or Tucson Weekly. I’ve also ghost and co-written some books. Or maybe you know me as a neighbor or friend or some guy you argue with online. In any case, my craft is writing and this is my newsletter, The Green Room.

What’s in this for me, the Reader?

My mission with The Green Room is to observe and report. To you, my gracious Readers, I pledge to amuse, inform, share stories, and shine light.

The full potential benefits to you from this newsletter/blog are untapped. You may well become faster (physically), smarter (mind-wise), and more powerful (in the emotionals department).

If I sign up, will Substack own some of my soul?

I’m pretty sure no!

Substack is a platform for writers with tons of great features. Writers like Salman Rushdie and George Saunders are already on board. If you’re a creator curious about whether Substack could work for you, visit Substack.com or read this piece in The New Yorker.

If either the Green Room or Substack make you wary, you’re welcome to block, delete, or unsubscribe at any time.

And what is the cost for this provision of joy and knowledge?

Most tangibly, your email address. You’re free to visit the Green Room as a blog whenever, no personal info required. However, newsletters are priceless to writers in this algorithm-blighted era, so please consider signing up!

Or you could get right to the good stuff and get a paid subscription.

Most of all, you provide me the gift of a readership.

Alright, I’ve signed up. What now?

Thank you! You’re all set. Every new edition of the Green Room will arrive directly at your inbox.
